Vikram Singh takes Laxmi's son and goes to meet the villagers. Jwala Thakur and Saroj too had accompanied the villagers. Vikram Singh informs Jwala Thakur and the others that Laxmi has delivered a baby boy. Jwala Thakur mockingly states that Vikram Singh was in need of money and hence allowed a Bedni to deliver her child in the mansion. Vikram Singh replies that he would never understand the meaning of helping a person in need. He reminds that the panchayat had announced that Sugni's family would not perform raai in a Thakur's mansion. Vikram Singh adds that he had called the family to his mansion as he wanted to help them. Jwala Thakur gets furious when Vikram Singh states that he was venting out his personal rivalry against the decision, which he had taken regarding Sugni's family. Vikram Singh orders Jwala Thakur to lower his voice. He asserts that Jwala Thakur was standing in his mansion and not in the panchayat.
